Tchaikovsky's Final Symphony
A romantic symphony with a dark twist…
November 20 (Thu) 8pm
November 22 (Sat) 8pm
Tchaikovsky's last symphony was written during a time of great distress. He was suffering from depression, leading him eventually to end his own life by drinking unclean water. His sixth and final symphony-- that premiered just a few days before his death-- is full of a life force that would shame a 20 year old, has a dark twist that has been catching audiences off guard ever since it premiered in 1893.
